This is the home of AH Squared's many and varied activities
This is an installation at the Knoxville Museum of Art (Knoxville, TN) that is reactive to motion and to people stepping on pads on the ground. The pads trigger samples (from a computer running ableton live) and the infrared distance sensors control effects placed on the samples. This was the intermission to Art Moves 2005, a performance of dance and music co-founded by Angela Hill and James Carlson all based on art in the museum. The samples in the installation are taken from the compositions by James Carlson and allowed the audience to interact with elements of the sound they had been hearing. The sculpture is a double helix made of copper for one spiral and moss on a frame for the other. My partner in this endeavour was Matt Roberts. We were very interested in the duality of nature and industry.
